There are several shopping centres in the Capital area that provide comfort for your buying experience. If you are interested in international brands or Icelandic specialities, the new downtown shopping area Hafnartorg (see picture above) and the shopping centres Kringlan, Smáralind are the places to visit.

Hafnartorg

Enjoy over 30 stores and restaurants, blending selected international brands with unique local design and cuisine, including the brand new Hafnartorg Gallery on the old harbour bank with a selection of some of the best choices Iceland has to offer in food and drink. Close to the city’s main attractions, museums, venues, public spaces and the fresh air of the Reykjavík bay. Accessible by public transport, or car from a spacious underground car-park with direct access to every part of the area, the Hafnartorg area is an essential destination during your visit to Reykjavík.

Kringlan Shopping Centre

Kringlan Shopping Centre in Reykjavík is located a 10-minute drive from the city centre. Over 170 shops offer an excellent variety of fashion, jewellery, arts and handicraft as well as restaurants and coffee houses, a bar, various services and a cinema.

Smáralind Shopping Centre

Smáralind Shopping Centre has around 90 stores and is located in Kópavogur, a 15-minute drive from the centre of Reykjavik. You will find a large variety of clothing stores, several speciality stores, restaurants and coffee houses as well as Iceland’s largest cinema.

Glæsibær Shopping Centre

Glæsibær Shopping Centre is located a 10-minute drive from the city centre.
You will find here restaurants, bakery, pharmacy and stores, like the popular eyeglass store Sjón.
