Brúarfoss

Brúarfoss Waterfall (on the Golden Circle) has now been made accessable by car, via a new road, 300 m (984 feet) from the waterfall. The Brúarfoss Parking Area is in Hlauptunga and accessible from road nr. 37 (Laugarvatnsvegur). This is a pay zone area, where service charge for car parking is required.

For nature lovers, with plenty of free time, there is a beautiful trail that leads from road nr. 37 to Brúarfoss.

Jóna Bryndís and her three sons, a local family, started construction of the Brúarfoss road and parking area at one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland, Brúarfoss in Hlauptunga. Construction started in 2021. many have been hindered from seeing this beautiful waterfall because it has only been accessible by a hiking trail off more then 3 kilometers. A truly wonderful hike we can recommend for those capable. It is our family’s intention with this project to increase everyone’s access to the waterfall and to build services and facilities for all to use.
