The Geothermal Exhibition is located at the Hellisheiði Geothermal Power Plant, the largest geothermal plant in Iceland. Visitors can see into the plant and learn about the production and distribution of hot water and electricity undertaken by ON Power.
The building is located beneath the Hengill mountain and features beautiful views of mountains and moss-covered lava fields. The exhibition showcases additional displays and interactive exhibits on Icelandic geology, rocks and minerals, geothermal history, the local area, and renewable energy. Carbfix, a leader in CO2 sequestration, has a dedicated space within the exhibition.
Visitors can also enjoy a drink in the on-site café, chat with our experienced staff, charge their car, refill their water bottle, and grab a hiking map of the surrounding area during their visit.
