The Secret Lagoon is at Hverahólmi, the geothermal area near Flúðir. It was made in 1891 and is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland. In the year 1909 the first swimming lessons took place in the pool and the tradition continued until 1947 when the new pool in Flúðir was opened. The Secret Lagoon is no longer a secret. It is now a popular tourist attraction and is getting many visitors after the renovation.
